Renia Shterenberg will become executive director of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra in Maine on September 1.
The Bangor Symphony Orchestra in Maine has named Renia Shterenberg as executive director, effective September 1, 2023. She will succeed Interim Executive Director Sarah S. P. McCarthy at the helm of the Bangor Symphony and the Bangor Symphony Youth Orchestras. A former violinist, Shterenberg is currently the general manager of the Britt Festival Orchestra in Jacksonville, Oregon, where she worked to increase fundraising, audience attendance, and revenue. In addition to her work at Britt, Shterenberg served as executive director of the Olmos Ensemble chamber-music group in San Antonio, Texas, since 2015. Lucas Richman is music director and conductor for the Bangor Symphony Orchestra.
